Casa I News

Dear Families,

Our highlight of the month of November was definitely preparing our delicious Thanksgiving feast, which included a simple but very delicious vegetable soup, fruit salad and sweet potato dessert. Many of you already know that this is my mom’s soup recipe and I used to make it when I was a little girl and still make every time we get together. This year’s soup had celery, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, onion, olive oil, garlic, basil and our new ingredient was spinach.  Each child decided what vegetable, fruit or ingredient to bring and participated in the process. We added turkey to one of the soups and to the other one alphabet letters.

It was quite beautiful to see the cooperation of a very young class, cutting, smelling and at times trying some of the ingredients. Thank you so much for helping your child bring some of the items for our feast and to Mr. Charles, Cadence's dad for taking the time to come delight us with such lovely background music.

It was lovely to see the independence and leadership of some of the children when they gather to embellish our tables with flowers, candles and paper pumpkins.

We will continue with another busy December month full of new seasonal work, learning about families, sharing the way we celebrate the holidays and good deeds. I would like to invite you to our Casa to share with us how you celebrate the holidays with your family. Please let me know if you would like to join us for another great month of fun memories.

Also, it was priceless to see you during our conference time and share with you the experiences of your child in the casa as well as their progress and concerns. Thank you for the constant support and kind feedback!
