Hello Toddler Families!
The winds are blowing and the Toddler Community is exploring the wonders of the fall season! The leaves are changing colors, swirling, and falling as we look out the window and rustle through them playing outside. We are also in full pumpkin mode! Our play area has a huge pumpkin to climb on (thank you Arlo and family!), we carved a jack-o-lantern and we have a basket of 5 pumpkins on our language shelf for exploring and poetry! Each month we learn a new poem as a part of our language enrichment. The September poem was “Sunflower” and this month we are learning “5 Little Pumpkins”.
Fall also brings the changing weather! Thank you for sending a variety of outerwear for your toddler! Having a light jacket as well as a warmer winter jacket and hat and mittens help us to layer and add clothing as needed.
Mittens: Speaking of mittens, we have found that the best mittens for fall and even in the winter snow are the insulated toddler mittens which can be ordered on Amazon – search “toddler insulated mittens”. I would highly recommend that you order some in time for winter! There are two types – “Baby Infant Insulated Mittens 12-18 months” or “Toddler Magic Acrylic Insulated Mittens”. Both come in a 6 pack.
Finally, remember that toddlers respond best to a calm and consistent routine! With the fall holidays coming up family schedules usually become anything but calm and consistent. Be patient with your toddler and yourself and try as much as possible keep a consistent routine!
Warm Fall Wishes!
