Casa I News

Dear Families,

The beginning of a new school year is always an exciting time for everyone. It is a time for change and new beginnings, new friends, new experiences, new skills and also new challenges.
During this month we will help and guide your child feeling comfortable in the environment and with new friends. We will do everything possible for your child to feel comfortable, safe and, of course, happy.

Many children are returning for their second or third year. These students are beginning to experience the feeling of being leaders and good role models. All together we will create our own community where we can explore, help each other, and respect one another.
This year we have 19 children. We have 12 children for the morning session and 7 for the full day program. I’m excited about the afternoon challenge, I do not plan to minimize their ability to do great work because of the small group or because the children are not in their kindergarten year. This is going to be a very interesting year!

During these few weeks many grace and courtesy presentations will be given. Example: How to walk around a mat, how to greet, how to watch someone work, how to ask for help, etc.  Also, let’s remember that some children may need more time to adjust to their new environment, please be patient and consistent during your drop off routine. To prevent separation anxiety, make sure your good bye is quick and with reassurance. A nice bear hug to last all day will do it.
