Casa I News

Dear Families,

November was a quick and busy month.  Our highlight of the month was definitely preparing our delicious Thanksgiving feast; which include a simple but very delicious vegetable soup, fruit salad and pumpkin bread. This is a soup that my mom and I used to make when I was a little girl and still make every time we get together. This year’s soup had zucchini, celery, potatoes, carrots, corn, tomatoes, onion, olive oil, garlic and basil.  Each child decided what vegetable to bring and participated in the process. We add to one turkey and to another one seashell noodles.

It was quite beautiful to see the cooperation of a very young class, cutting, smelling and at times trying some of the ingredients. Thank you so much to Jen K. for taking the time to come and bake with some of the children and shared her pumpkin bread recipe.

It was lovely to see the independence and leadership of some of the children when they gather to embellish our tables with flowers, candles and turkey pumpkins.

We will continue with another busy December month full of new seasonal work, learning about families, sharing the way we celebrate the holidays and good deeds. I would like to invite you to our Casa to share with us how you celebrate the holidays with your family. Please let me know if you would like to join us for another great month of fun memories.

Also, it was priceless to see you during our conference time and share with you the experiences of your child in the casa as well as their progress and concerns. Thank you for the constant support!
