Casa I News

Dear Casa I Families,
Happy holidays, everyone! November was a quick and busy month. Our highlight of the month was definitely preparing our lovely Thanksgiving feast. Every year we prepare our simple, but delicious soup. This is a soup that my mom and I used to make when I was a little girl and still make every time we get together. This vegetable soup has zucchini, potatoes, carrots, corn, green pepper, tomatoes, onion, olive oil, garlic and basil. During the feast in the Casa, we usually have two kinds of soups: vegetarian and non-vegetarian. This year, one student decided to bring noodles, so we had a vegetable with noodles soup and plain vegetable soup. It was quite beautiful to see the cooperation of our very young class while they cut, smelled and, at times, tasted the ingredients. We also had cake and our popular friendship fruit salad with coconut and honey. It was wonderful to see the independence and leadership of some of the children as they gathered the flower arrangements and candles to embellish our tables. I would like to thank you all for helping your child bring in all the vegetables, fruits and ingredients for this special day.

We will continue with a busy holiday season. I would like to invite you into our Casa to share with us how you celebrate the holidays with your family. Please let me know if you would be able to join us for another great month of fun memories.

Lastly, it was great to see you during our conference time and share with you the experiences of your child in the casa, as well as discuss their progress and your concerns.
